UpMarket Gallery invites artists to submit work for our upcoming juried exhibition, “Art from the Heart.” This uplifting show of works from the heart of Appalachia will be presented in the vibrant art epicenter of the Southeast, Asheville, North Carolina.
What does “Art from the Heart” mean?
This special show celebrates art created from passion and inspiration — work that speaks to your soul and shares your vision with the world. The theme is intentionally broad: simply submit the art you love.

The following mediums not accepted for this exhibition: photography, digital art, installation art and art made using artificial intelligence.

Sharon McAllister
Sharon founded ArtFest Fort Myers in 2000 and served as Executive Director for 22 years, returning briefly for its 25th anniversary in 2025. Now Chair of the Board, she remains dedicated to helping artists succeed. She has led countless juries and reviewed thousands of applications—second only to her love of connecting with artists in person.
Carolyn Graham Edlund
Carolyn Graham Edlund is the founder of Artsy Shark, a “top ten” art website started in 2009 that features and promotes emerging artists. With a background as the owner of a production studio and art sales rep, she has acted as an art business expert, writer, speaker for the past 15 years. She has juried and judged more than 50 visual art competitions and has extensive experience as a curator.
