I’m Andreina (“Andre-eena“), an expressionist artist living in Asheville, NC.  I grew up in the beautiful city of Caracas in Venezuela and went to school in Manhattan Kansas (“The Little Apple”.)  As a little girl, I was always curious.  I loved science..and loved solving “problems”.  That led me to a career as an Industrial Engineer.  There are a lot of parallels between science and arts…and when I paint I feel like both sides of my brain are in perfect harmony.

Larger than life paintings, gestural marks, bold brushstrokes and a love for color are characteristic to all of my pieces.  I paint letting my heart lead, but also looking for balance and energy in each composition.  From simplistic figure paintings to animals, I love exploring new subjects.

My father, an avid painter from the Basque region, introduced my to the art of Sumi-e.  My mother, originally from Zaragoza, operates a gallery in Venezuela that supports established and emerging Latin American artists.  Both have influenced me strongly as an artist.

When I’m not working or spending time with my family you will find me covered in paint, with a sketchbook or simply dreaming about the next time I’m alone with the canvas.

I have added a few of my favorite pieces in my portfolio, and if you want to get social you can find me on instagram.  I work with many amazing galleries and you can contact me directly.
