I’m James McManus, my home and studio is in Sylva, NC that I share with my wife Judy. Art has always been a part of my life, even as a contractor it enabled me to show ideas on paper to clients as work proceeded. WCU gave me the formal training in drawing, painting and printmaking. Since retiring I’ve gone full time into painting and show in galleries in Ga and NC. Most work is in acrylic and pencil with a starting point in landscape but as it progresses there is less emphasis on representation and more concentration on what I feel the painting needs. Composition, color and texture hopefully convey and draw the viewer into a connection with a shared view of our blessed world.
