UpMarket Gallery in Asheville, NC is the vision of Heather Davis—a space created to foster community, connection, and learning among Western North Carolina artists, while providing a gallery where locals and visitors can experience and enjoy their work.
UpMarket Gallery is located downtown at 68-70 N. Market Street in historic downtown Asheville, NC. Situated next to the original Asheville Biltmore Hotel on N. Market St. and adjacent to Thomas Wolfe’s boyhood home, the buildings are steeped in Asheville’s rich history. Home to the first location of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Asheville, as well as many other retail and corporate tenants, these buildings have been an integral part of Asheville’s history.
The buildings have been recognized as historically significant by both the State of North Carolina and the Federal Government, earning tax incentives through preservation programs that helped make this restoration possible.
