Micah Daw’s paintings inhabit a liminal terrain between abstraction and representation, unfolding within an indeterminate interstice where imagery resists fixed interpretation and the problematics of painting—namely its oscillation as both image and object—are deliberately amplified. He approaches painting as an expansive, hybrid medium, positioning it as a locus of mediation across virtual and material languages by foregrounding its capacity not simply to depict but to reveal the perceptual structures shaping contemporary experience. His current series, The Indexical Now, comprises works that function as fields of convergence, registering the pressures of visual oversaturation, temporal acceleration, and historical discontinuity.

Micah is a professor at Elon University where he serves as the Art Department’s Foundations Director. He lives in Greensboro, North Carolina.
