Sharman Johnson

Sharman Johnson is an abstract/surrealist painter living and working in the Asheville, NC. Her captivating pieces explore themes of architecture and the complex vagaries of the human condition. While largely self-taught, Johnson has refined her craft through dedicated studies with the Smithsonian Institution and the Art League of Alexandria, VA. Her paintings have been featured in exhibitions in Puerto Rico, Washington D.C., Solomons, MD and Asheville, NC, including showcases at the Upmarket Gallery (2025) and the Black Mountain Center for the Arts (2026). A recent transplant to the region, she is actively engaged in Asheville’s vibrant and diverse art community.
