When I paint, I work intuitively, opening to my unconscious through a deep listening. This practice asks of me to reflect on what matters in the world, inside myself, and my personal response. This painting “Hope” is one of a series circling around my feeling about the present political, racial and environmental situation. Earlier paintings are more despairing this one came last and asks for hope about the future.
