Kenneth Charles is a contemporary sculptor based in Asheville, North Carolina, whose work explores the intersection of geometric form, architectural structure, and fabricated steel construction through dynamic sculptural works that emphasize movement, balance, and spatial interaction. Originally trained in commercial art and graphic design in the late 1980s, Charles began his creative career in traditional hand-rendered advertising and production before the industry transitioned to digital design. In 2009, he began studying sculpture at the Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park, Florida, where he developed work in clay, mold making, and cast stone sculpture before later transitioning into welded steel fabrication. His current work focuses on contemporary geometric steel forms influenced by architecture, industrial fabrication, and motion. Charles’ sculptures have been exhibited throughout Florida and North Carolina, including installations at The Bascom: A Center for the Visual Arts, the Cashiers Sculpture Trail, Marquee Asheville Design Center, and Anvil Arts Sculpture Garden & Gallery. He currently lives and works in Asheville, North Carolina.
